Bob Dylan is an American songwriter, singer, artist, and writer. He has influenced music and culture for decades with wide ranging lyrics of political, social, philosophical, and literary words. Bob Dylan has sold more than one hundred records, making him one of the best-selling artists of all time. Over time, Dylan has received numerous awards with the most recent being in 2016 when he received the Nobel Prize in Literature. Dylan has shared with the world countless songs, albums, drawings, and paintings… here’s ten times Bob Dylan has shared inspirational words everyone can relate to:

  1. I define nothing … I take each thing as it is, without prior rules about what it should be.
  2. Behind every beautiful thing, there’s some kind of pain.
  3. Don’t criticize what you can’t understand.
  4. Some people feel the rain, others just get wet.
  5. When you feel in your gut what you are and then dynamically pursue it – don’t back down and don’t give up – then you’re going to mystify a lot of folks.
  6. Act the way you’d like to be and soon you’ll be the way you’d like to act.
  7. Inspiration is hard to come by. You have to take it when you find it.
  8. Take care of all your memories. For you cannot relive them.
  9. I change during the course of a day. I wake and I’m one person, and when I go to sleep for certain I’m somebody else.
  10. You’re going to die. You’re going to be dead. It could be 20 years, it could be tomorrow, anytime. So am I. I mean, we’re just going to be gone. The world’s going to go without us. All right now. You do your job in the face of that, and how seriously you take yourself you decide for yourself.

Bob Dylan's words lead one to believe that no matter what you're doing, be sure you're living. Life can flash by within the blink of an eye and if you aren't being you, "whoever that may be", and giving all you got, that you may lose your chance. Don't let the persuasion of others in the world today try to tell you what you should or shouldn't do. Some days may be tough and sometimes people may come in and out of your life even if you think it's not supposed to happen as it does... but take those instances and start the next day with a greater state of mind. For every day is a learning experience, no matter where you end up.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
