KPOP becoming bigger and bigger by the second. One of the newest groups that in the KPOP world is BLACKPINK . . . and I have been obsessed. They debuted on August 8, 2016, and has already surpassed Girl's Generation (which has been the leading KPOP girl group for years now). BLACKPINK released their first single album "Square One" on August 8, 2016. Their hit song, "Boombayah" was directed by the same person who previously directed "I Am the Best" by 2NE1 and "Fantastic Baby" by Big Bang.

Soon after BLACKPINK released "Boombayah" and "Whistle" they shot to the top of both domestic and international music charts. BLACKPINK hit number one on the Billboard World Digital Songs chart and the fastest to do so, and only third to hold the top two positions after Psy and Big Bang. "Whistle" topped the digital, download, streaming and mobile chart of Gaon Chart of August 2016.

Their group has 4 members, which is an under average size because KPOP normally has bigger groups. The members are Kim Jisoo, Jennie Kim, Roseanne Park, and Lalice Monobal.
