Black Jaguar White Tiger: Changing The World One Big Cat At A Time
Black Jaguar White Tiger

Most of us use social media every single day. My addiction is twitter and Instagram. I am constantly checking my phone to keep up with my friends and my favorite accounts. These days almost everybody has an Instagram, even businesses! They use social media as a way to promote themselves. My favorite Instagram account is an account called Black Jaguar White tiger. BJWT is a foundation that rescues big cats such as lions, tigers, and jaguars from awful circumstances and rehabilitates them.

This rescue wasn’t started that long ago but they already have over one million Instagram followers. Each day they post multiple different pictures and videos of all the animals they rescue. Eduardo Serio, runs the foundation and manages the social media accounts as well. His work is amazing and he cares for these creatures so incredibly much. The foundation has rescued over one hundred and eighty big cats. This foundation is run in Mexico and Eddie has worked with the Mexican government to create laws that prevents big cats from being used in circuses. So far Eddie’s hard work has paid off and he is saving precious lives each day.

Most of the animals he receives have been born and raised in captivity and therefore cannot be released back into the wild. Eddie cares for them as if they were his kids, and he treats them with the love and respect they deserve. The babies that come to the foundation are bottle raised inside Eddie’s house until they are big and strong enough to go to the second stage of the foundation.

Through the pictures he posts it’s amazing to see the bonds he forms with these animals. He names each one and knows all their different personalities. In his foundation, the packs that are formed are not determined by species and it’s amazing to see a lion and a tiger playing together. I am an animal lover so this account not only provides me great entertainment, but it is also amazing to see the work he does. Often times Eddie will post a picture of an animal when he first is able to rescue them and sometimes it’s incredibly sad to see the circumstances that some of these animals are in. Weeks later he will post a picture of the same animal and the changes are amazing. Eddie proves that with love and compassion, the whole world can change.

I thoroughly support this foundation and this Instagram account. Black Jaguar White tiger has restored my faith in humanity. Animals are just important to me as people are and they don’t deserve the harsh treatment that comes their way sometimes. This foundation is going to change the world someday I just know it.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
