Like any other close roommates, you have the questions you are frequently asking one another. These ones, however, may differ from the rest of the listicles you have read. While yes, these are 11 questions me and my roommates frequently ask one another, the topic of them range from health concerns to even questions about ghosts.

1. "Are you high?"

What can we say, sometimes one roommate comes back at the end of the day and just seems a little off. There was even one week where me and our other roommate asked her this question everyday. (spoiler: it was "yes" almost every time)

2. "Am I having a stroke?"

This one came to be after we all kept smelling toast a lot and proceeded to mess up our sentences (like we were such great English speakers to begin with). Really, we are okay in our suite but sometimes you just gotta make sure.

3. "Can you do your dishes?"

Hey, not to call out a roommate but sometimes, the dishes stack up. Happens to even the cleanest, tidiest ones.

4. "When was the last time I showered?"

This one goes out to my other roommate who really loses track of when she showers. We sometimes have to sit around going through the calendar to track her last shower. She's not a gross or dirty person, just gets busy.

5. "What's for dinner in the cafeteria?"

A day does not go by where I do not ask this question to my roommates. Then we proceed to pull up the menu and huddle around it, deciding what each of us plans to order when we get dinner at like 4:30 PM.

6. "Do you want to ouija?"

I am a (sort of) proud owner of a Ouija board and I introduced it to my roommates. They became hooked on it and now it is almost a nightly routine to sit in our hallway and talk to spirits. We had a whole family living in our suite last semester but now we just have one spirit who seems pretty nice.

7. "Was that Ed?"

This one goes with the aforementioned Ouija board. The spirit we communicate this semester is named Ed and he likes to stir things up in our suite. From knocks on walls to creaking of beds, any little occurrence is always blamed on Ed.

8. "What time do you have class tomorrow?"

2 out of 3 of us have our schedules on our doors to let people know where we are, however, we still just never know each others schedules. Maybe we'll get them down by, like, May?

9. "Do we have running water?"

Recently, university housing has been letting us down with the plumbing so whether we have running water or a working toilet is hit or miss.

10. "Would it be bad if I skip class?"

Most of the time we always say "no" but really it's because we just want people to hang out with.

11. "Did you do your Song of the Week?"

In our suite, we have a whole wall in our hallway dedicated to songs. Every week, each person picks a song to make as their Song of the Week. Sometimes we have to remind each other to pick a song for the week.....but sometimes we all get behind on it.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
