Television shows are my thing, as they are to most. When you’re bored, procrastinating, not sleeping, or wanting to run away from all of your responsibilities, Netflix seems to fix all problems in the world. Of course, until your TV show ends. It’s like the end of the world. I’m sitting there wondering, “If I finish this show, what am I going to do next?” Well, this list is so once you finish a show, there are plenty more to watch. All the shows listed below are completed, so you can watch from the wonderful start to the dreaded ending without having to wait for new seasons to come out. Enjoy your binge-watching!
1. "Parks and Recreation"
This show is my favorite. Out of every show I’ve ever watched, my definite favorite. It’s a little slow at first and I’ve repeatedly heard that people stopped watching it because season one was boring. I’ve also seen people say to skip season one and start with season two. Season one was a little slow, but I watched it and the show just got better as it went. It’s funny and sad (mostly funny). I’d say it’s a must watch, for sure!!
2. "The Office"
This one is a bit like "Parks and Recreation," but it has its differences. They’re both in the office setting and have documentary styled filming, but they are quite different. "The Office" is funny too, and had twists all the time. Each episode, you’re left wondering what Jim is going to do to Dwight, and if Jim and Pam will ever get together! It’s so much fun to see the characters grow throughout the series. It is the same with "Parks and Recreation."
3. "Breaking Bad"
Personally, I have not finished this series. I’ve watched various episodes here and there. I’ve seen the beginning and the end, but missed parts in the middle. Of course, "Breaking Bad" had to make the list though. The ending is such a cliffhanger, it’s crazy! Plus, if you love "Breaking Bad," there’s a spin-off series called "Better Call Saul!"
4. "90210"
This show has so much drama, it’s hard not to love it. You watch the characters turn from best friends, to ruining each other’s lives, and back to being best friends. I instantly fell in love with these episodes because I wanted to see how the characters work out their problems! "90210" is a remake of the older series, "Beverly Hills 90210" from the 90’s. Something I thought was awesome was that the characters in "Beverly Hills 90210" have roles in the newer 90210! Also, the ending is perfectly romantic, leaving me sobbing.
5. "Gossip Girl"
When I started watching "Gossip Girl," I got through a couple seasons before caving. I admit, I looked up who "Gossip Girl" is. It didn’t ruin the rest of the show for me, but I do suggest (if you don’t already know) DO NOT LOOK UP WHO "GOSSIP GIRL" IS. Let it be a total surprise because that’s exactly what it is, a huge surprise and twist. I loved this show though. It took me through high school and I’ll most likely watch the entire series again sometime soon.
6. "How I Met Your Mother"
Like "Breaking Bad," I haven’t seen all of these episodes. I have seen quite a lot of them though! This show is funny and corny, but you seem to grow attached to the characters quickly. I love the layout of the show and how Ted is really telling a story to his kids the entire time (this is not a spoiler). It ends so well too!
7. "Secret Life of the American Teenager"
This series was the first one I’ve ever finished, so of course, it had to make the list. It dragged on a little bit near the end, but making it to the last episode is definitely worth it! Plus,Shailene Woodley!!! Need I say more?
8. "Parenthood"
If you’re looking for a good cry, this is the show for you. My mom and I watched this show together from beginning to end. This show has so many real life problems, it seems so realistic. It’s like when something happens to the Braverman Family, it feels like your own family. This show is beautifully written and I was left wanting more.
These shows are my heart and life. Honestly, they’re incredible television shows, it amazes me! I hope you can get through all of these shows and learn to fall in love with the characters as I have. Now, go bundle up in your favorite blanket, in bed, and binge away! I hope you enjoy your shows as much as I do!
