This is it. The moment you've looked forward to since you can remember. The timing is finally right. You are finally mature and wise enough for this commitment.
Congratulations. You're expecting...
A Little!!
Last year you were but a starry-eyed new member trying to take in all of the rituals, history and missions of your sorority. Now, you have it all down like the back of your hand (well sort of), you know nearly all of your sisters and you are ready to have a Little of your own. Luckily for our chapter, we got a spring break prior to Big Little week. I have spent nearly every day of break planning, crafting and buying for my Little.
Despite the work, I have legitimately been walking around glowing like an expecting mother. Every cashier that I have checked out with has heard all about my ideas and schemes for Big Little week. My family has put up with me transforming our dining room into an art studio. I have tried to stop myself from being so extra, but I can't. I want everything to be over-the-top and flawless.
When you are a new member of a Greek organization, it can be extremely overwhelming. There are so many meetings, so much information and just a lot to learn. Having a Big to help you through the whole process makes everything significantly easier. You also want your Little to feel welcomed and like they have a place in the organization. You want them to see how passionate you are about your sorority and help to spark that love in their own hearts. I know that I want to be a close friend to my Little. I will be there for her when she needs a laugh, a hug, a night out or a cup of coffee. I have enjoyed every moment of Big-to-be preparation. Now I am just counting down the seconds until I get to spoil my Little absolutely rotten!
