Growing up with 3 sisters and 2 brothers, there was never a dull moment in my house. There was constanly loud noise, kids running down the stairs and most importantly, always love. When thinking about what I should write my next article about, this came to mind because of having just seen my whole family at a party. So here it is, 11 Things Only People Who Grew Up In A Big Family Know:

1. Family dinners require the youngest to sit on lawn chairs from outside because there's never enough actual chairs for everyone

All the youngest kids, including myself, know that you have sat on everything from a bar stool to a lawn chair and even the occasional sharing a seat with a sibling.

2. Never feeling alone because you have a huge support system, also known as your family

Going home on days when you feel alone and remembering when you walk into your house that you have your crazy family to support you.

3. Not being worried about making friends because you have some at home waiting for you

Who needs friends when you have the biggest squad at home that are forever friends.

4. Thanksgiving, or any holiday spent together, requires all of the food from 4 grocery stores

No joke, 3 grocery carts and at least 2 employees to help bring everything to the car.

5. Deciding to bring your boyfriend or girlfriend to a family event is a HUGE step in the relationship

Bringing a new significant other to their first family event is beyond stressful because you know at least one embarrassing moment will be brought up.

6. Automatically given the good or bad reputation of your older brothers and sisters when going into a new class

The second you walk into the classroom you hear the teacher say "Not another.." and you know they already saw your last name on the class list and had flashbacks of your siblings.

7. You eat like it is going to be taken away from you because when you were little, that was an actual threat

Eat like you have never eaten before because you never know which sibling is going to snatch the best looking piece of garlic bread from your plate.

8. Nobody knows what to expect when inviting the whole family over

Hope you have extra food because when we come to a party, we come hungry.

9. Opening Christmas presents takes at least 4 hours and there is always a fight over the order

Youngest to oldest or oldest to youngest? One of the biggest decisions on Christmas.

10. Fitting everyone in one car is like a puzzle but it can always be done as long as 3 kids sit in the trunk

That car fits 5, no. That car will fit 8 people, 3 dogs and a partridge in a pair tree.

11. There is never any privacy, but you still love them anyway!

Locks are not useful in a house where everyone just barges down the door if they have to but they are family so it does not matter.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
