Having a big brother means having a guy best friend forever. I’ve had guy best friends who I swore would always be my best friend but in the end, the guy I was always calling was my brother. Even if the world is tumbling down your big brother will never break that friendship you two hold.
Men, by nature, are protective creatures and when it comes to their little sister, or as my brother calls me “baby sister,” they can get extremely protective. From the clothes you wear, to the guy you’re dating and the group of friends you go out with, they are behind everything. They don’t do it to be annoying, but simply because they want to know that you’re going to be safe.
Big brothers build you up to be a tough cookie. Yes, all those times he has picked on you and ever said anything to make you cry builds your tolerance of being offended by others. They even show you how to fight during those intense matches of wrestling so you can protect yourself.
Even though we sometimes do not want to admit it, they teach you what’s cool. And if think something is cool and it really isn’t, they will save you from the embarrassment right away.
They teach you all about sports. Most likely his teams will be your teams. The beauty of that is you both will always have a bonding moment when it's game time.
You’ll always have a shoulder to cry on. When I had my first heartbreak, I cried and cried on my brother’s shoulder. He did not have to say a single word. Just the fact he was lending his shoulder was more than enough to make everything better.
