When we last left the House Guests, they were in the throws in a Veto Competition. We got to see that play out tonight when "Your Boy" Paul captured the HOH in a move that was a little head scratching. Paul, who is safe for 3 weeks, doesn't not need the HOH. He needed to just lay low and fade into the background. It could be just because of how he got betrayed last week and he felt like he needed to win, but really he didn't. Plus, everyone in his alliance were giving him their tickets so he really didn't have any choice. This could be a good move on their part in making the vet get all the blood, however it seems more like everyone just loves Paul and wants him to be successful. In retrospect though, this week isn't too terrible for Paul to win. He is safe next week so he won't have to deal with reprocussions and the house really wants two people out so it should be relatively easy.
It was no surprise that Cody and Jessica were very angry about how the vote and the competition went. They are running through who might have flipped on them and Cody comes up with the idea that it was Ramses and Josh when really it was Josh and Kevin. Mark did flip as well, but he was straight up with Cody about and that seemed to be just fine with Cody. Kevin also did a pretty good job of lying to them. This speaks volumes for Kevin's game. He is really flying under the radar, playing a great social game, and actually seems to know what he is doing. Cody and Ramses get in a little fight, but Ramses leaves the room. Josh and Cody then get into it pretty good. Josh then decides he is going to apologize a little bit later in the night to no avail. Cody and Jessica just lay into him calling him a victim and making fun of him. Josh then got emotional with Raven and they bumped his confidence up.
It hurts me that Jessica is just throwing her game away. She had so much potential coming into the season. I did say that she could be like Rachel Reilly, but not this much. She is just painting a target on her back and isolating herself the more and more she hangs out with Cody. This is just terrible game play.
The Den of Temptation made its return again tonight where Christmas won the Ring of Replacement and had to curse three House Guests. The Ring of Replacement gives Christmas the power to replace herself with one of the Veto Participants that are chosen by random draw in any Veto Competition she wants. This will be very interesting to see how Christmas uses this because of her broken foot and her inability to participate physical comps, which Veto's typically are.
When Paul is laying out his initial plan to get Cody out this week, he throws out the idea of Matt and Raven going up as pawns which Mark himself is just not a fan of putting someone up on their own side as pawns when they could just pick from the other side. Matt seems all for it which just shows how much he likes Paul. Paul then tells Mark and Elena that he has decided to not do that just because it is too risky. He then gets Alex and Josh to agree to go up as pawns to ultimately backdoor Cody. Josh seems to really trust Paul and he didn't take as much convincing as expected. Alex actually decided to go along with this as well because she knows that she doesn't have the numbers and has no choice. It is interesting that Alex agreed to this so easily this week when last week it was like pulling teeth to get her to say the right things with Cody. Either she likes Paul and got a reality check when Jillian was voted out.
Paul really should've just put Cody and Jessica upright becasue it gets the least amount of blood on his hands, but his pawns seem to be okay with it. The only thing that will really screw this up is if Ramses, who put himself on the block as third nominee because of the curse last week, wins the Veto. If he wins Veto, there is no replacement nominee. It will also not be good if Jessica or Cody wins the Veto. It will be very interesting to see how the Veto goes and if Paul can really fade into the background after this week. "Your Boy" is still playing good, but is he playing to hard? Only time will tell.
