"Big Brother" is a reality TV show where they put 16 unique individuals in a house for 90 days. They have to complete competitions, form alliances, and try to avoid being voted out of the house until the end of the three months. It starts June 22 and will continue until the end of August. Oh yeah, and did I mention that the house guests are under 24/7 surveillance? As you can imagine, there is always drama and fights with all of the conflicting personalities. Last Tuesday, the cast for "BB18" was released and here are some of my first impressions of them.
Bronte D'Acquisto
Bronte is the type of person that in a span of a three-minute interview turns from someone that you love to hate, to someone that you hate to love. At first, it seems like this sweet girl with a squeaky voice is really out of her element with this show, but then she turns fierce and goes on to say that there is nothing that she won't do to win.
Paulie Calafiore
Paulie has one huge advantage over most of the other house guests. His brother Cody participated in "BB16" two years ago. He's got the inside information and is ready to avenge his brothers eviction by taking home the cast prize for not only him, but the whole Calafiore family. But if the other houseguests find out about his family history, there is a good chance it will put a huge target on his back.
Zakiyah Everette
This preschool teacher seems like she has a plan and knows what she is doing. But as of right now, there is nothing that makes her stick out. She isn't very memorable. This might not affect her game directly, but being more memorable could always help her chances of being invited back for an All-star Season (please "Big Brother").
Glenn Garcia
This guy seems like he could become "likeable," but right now, the only impression that I get from him is that he is like the uncle that everyone has that you're glad you only have to see on Thanksgiving. He is a former police detective, which he has in common with "Big Brother 16" winner Derrick. Perhaps his background could help him with deciphering and Sherlocking the other houseguest's strategies.
Natalie Negrotti
This pageant girl thinks her biggest strength will be her flirty attitude and her physical fitness. With no one special waiting for her at home, perhaps she will be 1/2 of the next greatest showmance. Could she be a part of the next Jeff and Jordan? Or could her showmance crash and burn, and get her evicted from the house even quicker?
Victor Arroyo
This is another houseguest looking for a showmance. He thinks that he can charm the ladies by cooking them a nice dinner. Hopefully this guy doesn't get blinded by the ladies and working on his body and forget that he actually has to play the game.
Bridgette Dunning
This girl may be the bubbliest person I have ever seen, but she seems like she has a plan of attack for this summer. She knows what she wants and knows what she needs to do to get it. Her likeablility will really help her out this summer by getting people to trust her to join alliances. She just has to make sure they all don't turn against her.
Jozea Flores
He was a celebrity makeup artist so he definitely knows how to deal with divas. He also seems like he will have no problem making alliances and doing social game. As long as his success in competitions is just as high, then he should have no problem getting far in the competition.
Tiffany Rousso
Like Paulie, she has a family connection. Her sister was on "BB17" just last summer. She thinks her sister was one of the smartest social game players but thinks she can do better. Her plan to out-do her sister is to not let emotions get involved in the game as much. If she is as much like her sister as she says she is, she should be successful at getting far in this competition.
Corey Brooks
Oh, another Texas A&M athlete. That's not the only thing he has in common with BB17's Clay. They also don't have much knowledge about the show, and are good looking, but don't seem like they have a lot going on upstairs. Will he follow in Clay's footsteps and become a power couple? Or will he prove everyone wrong and go solo on this journey and make it to the end?
Michelle Meyer
After watching interviews of all the cast, she is probably my favorite. She is down-to-earth and very approachable. Her quirky personality should have people loving her. But she has a feisty side that not many people will expect. If she can keep her true intentions of taking no prisoners hidden, then she should be super successful in this game.
Paul Abrahamian
This guy is pretty much as cool as his beard. He has a very 'chill' personality and even said he doesn't care about the outcome of the game. His 'idgaf' attitude could either take him to the end or could frustrate the other houseguest enough for him to be evicted very quickly.
All of these houseguests have positives and down falls, but only time will tell who will come out as winner. Tune into CBS on June 22 to see the first episode of possibly the most iconic season yet.
