We have all had those days that it seems like nothing can go right because everything is going wrong. No matter what the situation is, we have all been there. You just want to call it quits because that is a lot easier than trying to fix the problem. You just want to be angry at the world because it seems like you always have the toughest days and you don't understand what you did to deserve them. When you are having a rough day and want to give up, remember these verses:

1. "When you've done everything you can do, that's when God will step in and do what you can't do." - 2 Corinthians 12:10

We often want to give up because we have done everything we can, and at that point we need to step back and let God take over. We cannot do everything; when we learn to let some things go and be left up to God, we will become a lot less stressed.

2. "Whenever you feel unloved, unimportant, or insecure, remember to whom you belong." - Ephesians 2:19-22

We often forget how much we are loved. We are so harsh on ourselves that we also forget to love ourselves, but when we are feeling like no one wants us or loves us, we can turn to God because he loves us.

3. "Don't be afraid. Just believe." - Mark 5:36

There are a lot of scary things in this world, but we need to believe that everything will be okay. We can conquer our fears if we just believe that we can.

4. "Rise up, take courage, and do it." - Ezra 10:45

Sometimes, the only thing we can do is stand up and face something head on. There may not be any other option but to gain some courage and get the job done.

5. "For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you plans to give you a hope and a future" - Jeremiah 29:11

No matter what our plans are for ourselves, God has a bigger set of plans for us. He will take care of us and give us a successful future.

6. "God is within her, she will not fail." - Psalm 46:5

We may not want to try something because we are scared of failing, but we should not be scared because God gives us the strength to succeed. If things go a different way than expected, then it is a learning experience.

7. "I am with you and will keep you wherever you go." - Genesis 28:15

There are many times when we feel like we have nowhere to go and that God has forgotten about us, but he will always be there no matter where we travel in life.

8. "Tears are prayers too. They travel to God when we can't speak." - Psalm 56:8

Words can be too hard to say sometimes. After something traumatic happens, we may need to just cry, and God can hear that. God can understand what we need when we are crying. It is not a bad thing to cry either, it helps us release our emotions.

9. "God can restore what is broken and change in into something amazing. All you need is faith." -Joel 2:25

Life throws us curve balls often, and when that happens, we need to understand that it can be transformed into something amazing. We can take what is broken, and make it something greater than ever.

10. "Be the light." - Matthew 5:14

When everything is crashing down, the only option we have is to be the light in the dark. There are always going to be people that have it worse than us, so we need to remember that at the end of the dark tunnel is a bright light.

11. "Cling to what is good." - Romans 12:9

The world can be an awful place, so we need to cling to what is good in our lives. It is not easy to not think about the bad things in our lives, or about the things we want in life. We need to cling to the things that make us happy.

12. "Before you were born I set you apart." - Jeremiah 1:5

There are going to be times that you do not fit in and people will not treat you the same as others. In those times we need to remember that God created us differently than everyone else before we were even born.

13. "Don't worry about anything: instead pray about everything." - Philippians 4:6

Have you prayed about it as much as you have talked about it? When we are worried, we need to talk to God because he will help us.

14. "When you go through deep waters, I will be with you." - Isaiah 43:2

There will be tough waters, we lose a friend, we don't get the job we wanted, or we are just having a rough day. But, God is with us every step of the way and we need to remember that. When the waters get deep, God will bring us to the shore and keep us safe.

15. "You can make many plans, but the Lord's purpose will prevail." - Proverbs 19:21

We like to try to plan out every step of our lives in hopes to make the best of them. But God has his own purpose for our lives. No matter how much planning we put into our lives, there is something bigger planned for us and we cannot escape that.

These verses remind me of better days when life gets tough, and it also reminds me that God always has my back. Be not afraid because God will always take care of you and make sure that you have all that you need in life.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
