Bible Verses for College Students
Brianna Ramsey

College is hard, in more ways than just classes and/or professors. As students, we experience a great amount of stress. People look at us and expect us to have life all figured out.

I will be the first to admit that the life of a college student is not the easiest. There are so many things that I could stress and worry about, but I refuse to let those things get to me. When I find myself beginning to feel stressed or anxious, I immediately go to the Rock that is higher than I. Instead of wondering what will happen or how I am going to manage all of the requirements of my classes, I find peace and rest in my Heavenly Father. He tells us several times to not fear, and I have taken that to heart within the first few weeks of college. There is no need for me (or any student) to worry about anything, because God is all-knowing. He is sovereign and beautiful. Most of all He is in control. I thought I would list some Bible verses below that have helped me in my times of need. I have made these principles my foundation for the future by reflecting what they say and the truth that they hold. These verses offer me so many things including peace, hope, confidence, courage, and most importantly love. I hope it will reach and touch someone that needs them just as much as I did.

Confidence

“Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 1:6

Nervous

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your path straight.” – Proverbs 3:5-6

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9

Temptation

“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.” – Psalms 1:1-3

Strength

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” – Philippians 4:13

“But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” – Isaiah 40:31

Weakness

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” – 2 Corinthians 12:9

Peace

“Be anxious in nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:6-7

Tired

“Come to me, all you who are weary and heavy burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” – Matthew 11:28-29

And one of my personal favorites,

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him.” – Romans 15:13

I encourage all of you to make Christ the foundation of your life and rest in the fact that He is always with us.

“…I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” – Matthew 28:20

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
