Number One Best Moment In 2016

May 18, 2016, Graduation Day

The number one moment I would say is the best is my graduation day, which was on May 18, 2016. I will never forget the day I sat with the class of 2016 and walked across the stage when Ms. Bih Gamnje called my name, "Leielt Azanaw." On the other side of the stage were NJROTC cadets raising their swords when I approached. Reason why? I was a part of the program in high school. I was so happy. My family screamed my name from the audience,"Go Leieltya!" As family and friends cheered for the class of 2016, everyone was so happy.

Not only was my graduation the best moment in 2016, knowing all these wonderful people in the past couple of years and now graduating with them is a great blessing. Everyone I truly love and call friends is not in the photo, but they know who they are.

I never thought I would have gone this far. Without my friends, I never would have made it. I made memories I will never forget.

Other Moments That Are The Best

Every day I've spent on this earth is the best moment in my life, not just in 2016. Yes, there may be times when I have my worst moments. For example, when I was cleaning and somehow dropped my iPhone 5C into a bowl of milk, which I find quite funny. Since my phone dropped into milk, my speaker barely works, but my phone is still somewhat in shape. Time for a new phone in 2017. Don't you agree?

I've got to say I'd enjoyed my years at Friendly High School. I was a part of the Academy of Health & Bio Sciences, and I'd learned a lot. I loved the class and had known these Patriots of Friendly for quite some time.

Even when we don't really keep in touch with each other anymore, they are still family. I know God has a plan for them. Whatever God has planned, I bet you it is the greatest plan of all. Best wishes!

Nyack College, Nyack, NY

Finally, I've been a part of the Nyack College family! I am now a proud Warrior! Ever since I came to Nyack College, I've experienced more than I ever imagined. I've met new people, and the moments I have had have been the best ever. I have not had any of my worst moments here at Nyack. I think my years at Nyack will be very interesting with more of the best and worst moments to come. As one of my professors said in this past semester, "Welcome to college."

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
