Yes, I know this isn’t posted in time to help anyone with their choice in voting, and millions of people are now upset with the outcome of the election. But I do have one thing to say that I hope will help someone. IT WILL BE OK!
Some of us are super excited that Trump won, some of us are extremely upset. Both are OK. This was a long and hard election, and in the end, I’m just glad it is over.
This country is built on a solid foundation of morals and principles that one man isn’t going to change. Our constitution is 229 years old. We have currently had 44 presidents that have done great things for us, but also ruined this country. And we have come back every time.
We, as the United States of America, are stronger than one person.
Yes, the Senate and House of Representatives are both Republican too. However, we elected those people to their position, just like we elected Donald Trump to his. As a democracy, we the people control the fate of our nation. We and only we are responsible for the outcome of the election. It was our vote that put everyone in office.
Do you know what people in public office fear most?
Public election. That’s because their fate is in our votes. So, guess what! In four years, if we think the country is destroyed because of the man we put in that office, we can vote him out! We can replace him with someone else. If we don’t like that one, only four more years until we can change it up again.
While President of the United States is a huge deal and affects this nation in enormous ways, it can be undone or changed later down the road. And yes, if Congress passes bills that we don’t approve of, we can assembly, we can petition to overturn. We can even write our Congress members and ask them to appeal it.
This is the best thing about our nation. We have the power!
The founding fathers set up this nation so no one can take advantage of this nation and its people. So, while some of us fear that this term will destroy the nation, you must remember, we are stronger than this.
