Have you ever been told that you're "fun sized," or the dreaded phrase, "the size of a child?" Welcome to the Short Women Club.

As short women, we have to stick together against all the people who think it's acceptable to balance their elbows on the tops of our heads or think we're not strong because we're smaller. Even though there are tough times ahead, there are many positive things about being short.

1. You can shop in the kids section

The money you save goes towards the more expensive clothes worth investing in!

2. You don't mind being in the middle seat

All cars are big cars when you've got short legs.

3. You're the perfect cuddle size

The little spoon was made for you. You were made to be little spoon.

4. You'll almost always be in the front row of group pictures

"Oh, you're short, get in front of me" is the best thing to hear as a short woman.

5. You can always rock high heels

Being short allows you to wear those huge platform wedges and become an average height.

6. Shirts on taller people = dresses for the shorter population

Clearly some pieces of clothing don't cater to the short. Lucky for us, T-shirt dresses can be fashionable and extremely comfy.

7. You've learned to scale tall objects or find ways around them

That top shelf of the grocery store? Climb the bottom two shelves and get an arm workout. Top shelf of the kitchen cabinets? Climb up and it's not a problem.

8. You're always being called 'the cute one'

Not everyone likes this title, but it happens often, and sometimes you just have to accept it as a compliment.

9. You're an expert at getting through a crowd

Making through a crowd at a party without having a drink spilled on you is an amazing feat.

10. The unexpected twist

What we lack in height, we make up for with a huge personality.

Embrace being short, because yes, it can make our lives harder at times. But have hope, there's amazing benefits that make life as a short woman worth living.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
