12 Shania Twain Songs you need to listen to 'now'
Shania Twain

Since I have the pleasure of seeing Shania Twain in Grand Rapids on July 18th this is a tribute to the woman herself. A truly great musician who has taught me many life lessons. And I know I'm not alone. Here are just a few:

"That Don't Impress Me Much"

This song taught us all that the guy trying to pick you up at the bar is not actually that impressive.

Man! I Feel Like a Woman!"

Honestly, there's never an inappropriate time to jam out to this classic. This song is guaranteed to make you feel better on a rough day. And guys, we know you're singing along, too.

"Any Man of Mine"

This one put our expectations up right where they should be when it comes to choosing a man. He better walk the line.

"You're Still the One"

Giphy

Here she showed us that maybe you don't need to raise your expectations. Maybe you found your guy early on and he's everything you've hoped for. Special dedication to my guy. ;)

"Forever and For Always"

A perfect one for when you find the man mentioned in numbers three or four and decide you want to spend the rest of your life with him.

"Up!"

Giphy

My personal favorite! This is a great feel good song. When things are looking as bad as they could be give this one a listen.

"Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under"

Great for the girl who had an unfaithful boyfriend. Listen to this one if you've had your heart broken and by a cheater.

"Honey I'm Home"

media.giphy.com

A song that shows that everyone needs a little extra love and appreciation after a long day at work.

"It Only Hurts When I'm Breathing"

media.giphy.com

The best song to cry to after a heart break of any kind. If you need a good cry, this is the one.

"From This Moment On"

media.giphy.com

One fit for a wedding! It tells the story of joining your life with the one you love most.

"I'm Gonna Getcha Good"

Giphy

This one pumps you up to go talk to that guy you've been eyeing all summer.

"Life's About to Get Good"

Giphy

This is a newer one, but equally as amazing. The woman still has it! Another uplifting hit for the win.

In the end, every one of her songs are great and deserve a listen. This list just gives you a starting point to embrace the full Shania experience. Happy listening!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
