The Best Outfits From Reign

"Reign" is an American historical fiction television series created by Laurie McCarthy and Stephanie Sengupta which premiered on 2013 on The CW. The series follows Mary, Queen of Scots during her early years living in France in the mid-16th century. What could be better to distract you from the million things you have to do for tomorrowthan gorgeous scenery, foreign accents, political (or should I say royal) intrigue, swoon-worthy French princes (hello Toby Regbo) -- and their (maybe even more swoon-worthy) bastard half-brothers (hello Torrance Coombs) -- and the fashion, of course! Let's look to Mary and her four original ladies in waiting -- Kenna, Greer, Lola and Ailee -- for inspiration. Because, after all, when all of France is just a chess move away from a blood-bath, and your husband's manipulative, Machiavellian mother is (not-so-secretly) trying to poison you, you may as well look the part.

Mary

All of the women have gorgeous clothes, but, personally, I like Mary's style the best. She has this way of wearing really feminine pieces, but she never ends up looking fragile in them.

Red is, always has been and always will be the color of passion. Pair that with some royal gold earrings and you're ready to take on the world.

If red screams "passion," black definitely represents power and mystery. The subtle touches of the large earrings, headband and rings, add an element of glamour to this gorgeous embroidered dress. The subtle detail of small braids in Mary's hair give her a touch of sophistication that fits well with the overall outfit.

Here, Mary sports dress that looks like a church window painting. The color and pattern matches perfectly with her crown, giving her a look appropriate for a queen

Kenna

I don't want to spoil anything, but let's just say Kenna aims high with using her beauty (and wit, charm etc.) to gain power in French Court. She knows what she wants, and she is going to get it. She's reckless and impulsive, and more free-spirited than the others, so some of her outfits have little bohemian touches, such as the headband in this angelic ensemble:

The dream-catcher necklace in this outfit adds a spark of originality to a flattering black and white long-sleeved lace dress.

This elaborate blue and gold bodice dress with a black shawl is the perfect ensemble to wear for Kenna when she wants to deliver a sassy comment:

Greer

Greer is the eldest in her family and comes to Court hoping to find an eligible (read: rich) husband (ring a bell anyone? Sounds a lot like Princeton Mom to me). Greer's fashion is slightly more conservative than the other ladies-in-waiting.

Greer looks mature and sophisticated in this grey silk dress:

This beautiful dark purple long-sleeve dress with hold embellishments brings out the highlights in Greer's long blond hair.

This fabulous embroidery and detailing cream-colored short-sleeve dress matches beautifully with Greer's earrings and headband for a polished look

Lola

Lola comes from a wealthy and noble family. She's brave, stubborn, loyal to Mary and she has a bit of temper when she's upset. There's nothing like a gorgeous, ruffled, light pink dress to bring out the shine in her chestnut curls:

This stunning white and gold floral dress coupled with a gold waist-band and headband is perfect for dancing:

This intricately-made burgundy dress with a gold necklace fits well when Lola is busy gossiping about court intrigue:

Ailee

Probably the most bubbly and innocent of the girls, Ailee's fashion is flirty and sweet. This white lace dress gives her an air of innocence:

This fun floral dress paired with a grey fur shawl and cute hair accessories and braids emphasizes Ailee's fun-loving personality:

The lovely, unique color of this long-sleeve mint-green dress and headpiece brings out the green in Ailee's hazel eyes.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
