It is Halloween night and you are fully prepared to curl up with a bag of candy corn and watch Hocus Pocus for the 15th time this month. But you live in Tallahassee. This can only mean that, against your better judgement, you have been convinced to venture out on the most ludicrous night of the year.
There’s only one problem -- you have nothing to wear.
It’s Halloween and you have to come up with an epic costume idea. You frantically search your costume item bin before
ultimately deciding to dress in all black and wear those cat ears from the
second grade. Let me stop you right there. This year, that will not be you. Why? Because I am here to help.
After asking every possible 'Nole I could, “What is the most
creative costume idea you have ever had or heard of?” I composed a list that should spark your interest and give you some inspiration. Here are my top 20 findings.
1. Sugar Skull: The make up for this costume is crucial: use white and black make up to make your face appear to be skeletal then add color. Wear colorful clothes.
2. Emojis:
- Heart Eyed Emoji: red heart eyed sunglasses, wear all yellow.
- Sunglasses Emoji: regular sunglasses, wear all yellow.
- Twin Girl Emoji: black leotard, black flats, black bows.
3. Starbucks Frappuccino: brown dress, printed out Starbucks logo, white boa.
4. Morton Salt Girl: Yellow dress, umbrella, carry around a Morton salt container.
5. Fresh Prince and Carlton: For Fresh prince: Harlem pants, mismatched patterned shirt, snap-back hat.
- For Carlton: khakis, sweater vest, white Keds.
6. Fortune Teller: Jewels, headband, flowy ruffled clothes.
7. Doublemint Twins: Green dresses, green headbands, packs of Doublemint gum.
8. Hi-lighters: Neon leggings with matching neon shirts that have “hi-light” written on them in white.

10. Hungry Hungry Hippos: Make hippo ear headbands or hats, wear all one color (pink, yellow, green, orange).
11. Troll Dolls: Nude colored dresses or outfits, spray paint hair or wear colored wigs.
12. Floor Of A Movie Theater: Wear all black and tape trash to yourself.
13. Sriracha Bottle: Wear all red and a bright green hat or headband, wear printed saracha logo.
14. Flavor Flav: Baggy clothes, crown, big clock around your neck.
15. Tooth Fairy: Dress and wings, carry around a bag that says “Teeth.”
16. Beanie Babies: Animal ears, big cut out “ty” red heart hanging around neck.
17. Thing 1 And Thing 2: Self explanatory.
18. Cheetos Cheetah: Anything cheetah print, white Keds, bag of Cheetos
19. A (From Pretty Little Liars): wear all black, and a black hoodie with a red letter “A” attached
On that note..
20. Easy A (From The Movie): corset style top, wayfarer sunglasses, red A attached to shirt
These definitely sparked some inspiration for me so I hope they’ll do the same for you. After all, no one wants to be stuck wearing a lame costume on Halloween.
