Dear best friends,
I thank the universe on a daily basis for causing our paths to cross and bring you into my life. I'm always amazed that you have the patience to put up with my extremely energetic and sassy self, but you do it anyways. There is no one I would rather spend afternoons watching Netflix and eating tubs of ice cream, going on late night drives, or laughing till our stomachs hurt at things no one else would find funny with. I could tell you all the cliches about how special you are to me, how my life would be so different without you, how I don't think I could ever have such good friends as you, and so on and so on. While those are so very true, there's something else I want to tell you. Something that I think is a little more important.
I want to tell you how unique and special you are. I may never be able to fully explain how incredible you truly are, but I can try. You inspire me on a daily basis to be the best version of myself that I can be. You constantly show me what the meaning of true friendship is, the kind of friendship that I know will last for the rest of our lives. Whenever I feel alone, I know that you will always be there. I will never be able to thank you enough for that, but thank you so much.
You deserve the best in this world. You deserve every smile, every laugh, and every happy tug of the heart this world can give you. You deserve college years filled with shining memories. You deserve careers that make going to work every day a good thing. You deserve a partner who makes life better on a daily basis. Someone who you can travel the world with, learn new things with, and have day long Netflix binges with. You deserve families that make you smile and bring you joy. You deserve long lives filled with happiness and love. You deserve everything good this world can you give you.
While you deserve everything good, you also deserve bad. This may sound backwards, but adversity has a way of changing us, and I have seen how much you grow from hard times. I think we all grow after experiencing tragedies. They help us to reevaluate our lives and appreciate the good in our lives. So maybe it would make more sense to say you deserve everything. You deserve the world, in all it's good, bad, and ugly. I have no doubt that you will take whatever the world throws at you and turn it into a triumph, a victory. I am so proud of you, every day, and I cannot say it enough, but you deserve the world.
Love always,
Your ever grateful and humble best friend.
