Dear Comforting Brown Horse,
We've had a wild ride of a friendship and a friend group, to say the least. But after we graduated, it pretty much became you and me. You are one of the only people I choose to keep in touch with from home, and I am forever grateful for you. Now after three years, you finally came and visited me at the University of Tampa and you got to experience everything I could have wanted you to.
You met my “forever friends” who I’ve been raving about for two years and instantly understood why I love them as much as I do. You went to Drynk, HPC, Station, and a house party, which were all completely different than the University of Maryland clubs, bars, and house parties that you’re used to. You sat on my bed and watched The Office while I watched Criminal Minds because it wouldn’t be a night with you if we didn’t separately watch Netflix...together. You tried Oxford Exchange, Ciccio's, and Fresh Kitchen, three of my favorite places to eat in Tampa (my mom is going to be so jealous). You tanned in November at the campus pool, something we Marylanders don’t typically have the pleasure of doing.
You witnessed me working firsthand when I spent an hour promoting our weekend events around campus (#stickwithtraditions). You took “sneaky pics” of me and the guy I like, which has always been your trademark of approval. You had a great time working out at our new fitness center because you knew I couldn't go the weekend without lifting, despite having to pay $10 for a one-time guest pass. You sat on the special swinging bench that I claimed as my favorite campus spot when I lived in Straz last year.
You ate Salsa Rico and Grille, and actually had a pleasurable experience both times. It was a fantastic weekend and I wouldn’t change a thing. Everyone who met you absolutely adores you, and I knew you would feel the same way about them. You told me you’ve noticed my growth since I got to UoT and that now you can see why I love my university so much. So thank you for visiting me, for understanding me, for supporting me, and for loving me. I love and miss you already.
See Ya Soon,
Comforting Brown Horse.
