During quarantine, I have found myself extremely bored from day to day. No matter how many Netflix shows I watch, I still find myself not entertained. This is where books have become my savior. It's nice to be able to unplug from electronics and fall into the make-believe world of literature. Books offer a great distraction to help keep you occupied for a few hours; here are five of my favorites right now.
1. Crazy Rich Asians
Crazy Rich Asians is one of the best books I have ever read. It's written in multiple characters viewpoints, which really gives a good insight to the storyline and how different characters are feeling. The book is about Rachel Chu meeting her boyfriend's (Nick Young) very rich family in Singapore for a friend's wedding. There are lots of twists and turns in the book that will always keep you engaged. Bonus: the book is also a movie, so you can watch it after you read it!

2. A Court of Thorns and Roses
A Court of Thorns and Roses is a four part book series about the adventures of Feyre, a human in a mystical world across the human border. One night, Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, but what she doesn't know is that the wolf was "special". After she kills the wolf, a beastly creature comes a takes her to a mystical land and then the adventure begins. This is another one of my favorite books, especially for fans of fantasy books!

3. Six of Crows
Six of Crows is about six outcasts that are given a task of completing a heist. If they complete this heist, they will become rich beyond their wildest dreams. The only problem is that they have to stick together and not kill each other first. This is one of two books in this wild series, and is great for anyone that loves an adventure in a make-believe world.

4. Red Queen
Red Queen is a book that I have loved since I first read it in 2015, and have read it about 3 times total. This is a dystopian society book, where people are separated based on the color of their blood. Silver-blooded people are elite with powers and red-blooded people are servants. The main character, Mare Barrow, is a red-blooded servant, but she has a secret. As she gets closer to the silver court (the elite), she risks exposing herself in front of the court.

5. Five Feet Apart
Five Feet Apart is about 2 teenagers (Stella and Will) that are in the hospital for their cystic fibrosis. Stella is extremely organized and hopeful for her future, while Will is a pessimist that has no hope for his future. Stella helps Will become better about his medical regimen to help him live a longer life. On the way, these to happen to develop feelings, but what happens when you develop feelings for someone you can't stand next to? This is a sappy teenage love story kind of book, and it's a very easy read.
