The Benefits of Living With Your Best Friends

Is there a better combination than living with roommates who are also your best friends?

Anything goes.

From walking in at three in the morning to walking around with no pants on, your roommates understand that there are no boundaries or limits. Always expect the unexpected.

Full access to each other's closets.

With a little permission, your roommates closets are your closets. If your roommates have good taste, then there is no reason to go to the mall and spend more money on clothes. Talk about saving money!

The secrets and inside jokes.

When you live with your best friends, there is bound to be secrets and jokes that only you guys understand and know.

Late night cuddles.

No matter how much you might deny it, you always like it when your roommates come in to keep you company while studying or just to watch tv. It is also the perfect opportunity to dish on the day's events.

They know your hangover cures.

Your best friends know to stay away from you after a long night out. No loud noises or bright lights. They also know what foods you need to satisfy your munchies. Thank you Jimmy Johns, Cheba Hut and Papa Johns.

Friendly competition.

There is nothing wrong with a little friendly competition. Competing with your best friends allow you to never have a dull moment in the house.

You never have to wear pants or a bra.

Hello freedom. You feel so comfortable wearing baggy shirts, no pants or bra that it is a struggle having to go out in public. Your body will thank you later.

They got your back.

If anything goes on, you know that your best friends will always have your back.

Venting.

Best friends will accept the long stories about how you saw your ex-boyfriend kissing some ugly girl at the club last night. Venting usually occurs while eating junk food and during cuddle sessions. They will be there when you venting turns into an ugly cry.

The advice.

It's like having a therapist 24/7 who is not only free, but lives steps away from you. Through the good times and the bad times, your best friends will tell you like it is.

They know everything about you.

Sometimes they know more about you than you know about yourself. You know their likes, dislikes and weird habits that make living together easier.

No judgement.

Because they know everything about you, there is no reason to hide anything. They live with you, so they see who you bring home at night, what you eat and what you look like in the morning. No judgement needed.

You never have to go anywhere alone.

You never have FOMO with your best friends because you go everywhere together. There's always someone to ask to go to Target, Safeway or In-N-Out at midnight.

The conversations that aren't okay to repeat in public.

There are just somethings that shouldn't be repeated. Conversations can get real weird, real quick. The best talks are the ones that can't be repeated in public.

Getting their outfit approval.

Picking an outfit for the night is a lot easier when you have your best friends approval. If it wasn't for their opinion, you might walk of the house looking like a hot mess. You can count on your BFF's to be honest.

You never have to drink alone.

Wine Wednesday's more than likely turn into everyday. You never have to feel shame while drinking alone because there is always someone who is having just as bad a day as you are.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
