Stereotypes are for the birds cowgirl.
As "cowgirls" we are often portrayed rough and rugged creatures with no make up and a simple braid.
But we are so much more than that, and I love how we have changed.
We are free spirits and it's okay to dress as such.
So here's to the modern cowgirl.
We watch make up tutorials and Lonesome Dove.
We shoot whiskey, beer, and wine.
We sing Dave Stamey, Shania Twain, and The Chainsmokers.
We paint our nails, or we don't.
We have tattoos, piercings, colored hair, and copious amounts of turquoise.
We work hard days with our colts and cattle.
We wear patterned leggings, moccasins, and shitty boots.
It doesn't matter how you look, it matters what you do.
Like I said stereotypes are for the birds. You can have acrylic nails and false eyelashes and still be handy as all heck. Don't judge a book by its cover, or a girl by her fashion.
It doesn't matter if your'e a suave buckaroo-girl, punchy team roper, glitzy barrel racer, great show-woman, or fancy cattle-woman. You do you, and kill it.
