10 Reasons Why Belle Is The Best Disney Love Story Princess

On Friday the studio released some photos of the up and coming live action version of "Beauty and the Beast." The photos gave a sneak peek at Beast, Gaston, and Lumiere and Cogsworth. Though those were really cool stills, I was depressed they didn’t throw in an image of my favorite Disney heroine, Belle. It would have been perfect since it was women’s equality day, and who better to be seen as a great role model than Belle in a love story? From a young age, I saw her as a role model. Not only can she pull off yellow, but Belle is a Disney Princess who doesn’t believe she needs a man, though she finds one. So here’s why Belle is a the best Disney love story princess.

1. She's friendly, even to the furniture—talking furniture that would scare the crap out of any human being...

2. She doesn’t believe it’s just a man’s world, and refuses to submit to Gaston’s advances though he doesn’t appreciate her.

Just because you're hot doesn't mean you're my type...

3. She’s a bookworm and isn’t ashamed of reading in the middle of town with sheep everywhere. She's also not stuck up and knows a well loved book may get a little injured. I mean, we can't always predict if a sheep is going to take a bite out of our favorite book or not...

4. She sees past the Beast's exterior and accepts him.

5. She’s like the honey badger. She’s an outcast that doesn't give a sh*t.

Equates to:

6. She doesn't suffer from Stockholm Syndrome though some people would like you to believe it. The Beast's staff may try to manipulate her into loving him...

But she falls on her own...

7. Unlike some people, she doesn't make fun of Beast for his inability to read. She helps him learn, which is more than I can say for some teachers today.

8. She makes yellow work as a dress color and pulls it off well.

9. Belle sees through Beast’s tough exterior and acknowledges that he's struggling. She helps him cope and falls for who he is—not because he's beautiful like Gaston, but because he accepts her to be herself too. I mean, he gave her a freaking library!

10. She’s being played by the amazing Emma Watson, who’s just as bada** as Belle. I mean, who better to play Belle than a feminist who wants equality for all! Just like how Belle breaks the Disney stereotype of the “possession Princess” and wants the Beast to be seen as everyone’s equal too…

I love romances, and "Beauty and the Beast" has to be one of the best. Compared to other love stories, Belle definitely one ups all the other princesses. Therefore, I can’t wait for Disney’s new live action "Beauty and the Beast." Just this teaser alone made me squeal!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
