Every day that I get on social media, it seems like I get the pleasure of witnessing friends and relatives getting into relationships. And while I’m happy for everyone, I can’t help but feel that I want a relationship, also. I want someone to have and to walk with me and to love me.
However, I also know that it is okay to be single. One day, my Prince Charming is going to make me happy. Today I am focusing on myself. Instead of feeling sad for myself, here are a few simple reminders that I have to make sure that I am happy just being in a relationship with myself.
I have my girls.
It’s true that I want a boyfriend that will love me for who I am, but I have my closest friends for that! We hold hands and have date nights just like I would with a significant other. Plus, we can go on "Grey’s" binges with pizza and not feel awful later (not much, anyway).
I dress for myself.
I know that I do not have to dress for someone else, I am able to feel confident all by myself. It’s al about confidence and power!
More time for other relationships.
Some people get lost in their relationships, so time being single can remind a person to hang out with family, friends, animals, and the great outdoors.
Finding myself.
There are numerous passions that I hold, and I’m not sure where they lie. I can take this time to find out who I truly am, and what I can do to better myself for the future.
It’s not time to settle just yet…
For the girls out there who are set and in love, I am so happy for you! However, I am not ready to settle down yet. For the girls in the same boat that I’m in, it’s okay! There are many other things that are planned in our futures!
Remember, relationships are nice and are not a bad thing. But being single is OK, too!
