I've always been one of the younger ones in my friend groups. (Thank you mom and dad for starting me in school early.) I've come to know the lifestyle of being one of the younger friends early on. It's been an aspect of my life that's all too familiar. There's no shame in being the youngin though! You learn lots of amazing things from being the young one. Having this random knowledge, I hope you learn or relate to some of it, too.
1. Knowledge of the older friends. Whether it be boy issues, not understanding material in class, or even just needing outfit advice - at least one of your squad has been there. You've got a plethora of opinions and experiences to choose from.
2. They share their stuff. It's like being the annoying younger sibling because when you don't have anything to wear, they most certainly do. When you need a pencil, of course they have one. If you're hungry, they probably have food and are willing to give some to you. It's inevitable.
3. It's like having older siblings. If you're like me, you didn't have older siblings. Being the youngest in the friend group is like being the youngest in the family. Lord knows that your squad is definitely family.
4. You can be annoying. They'll still love you, too. Just like you think of them as older siblings, they think of you as the younger one. So while you might be a pain in the butt, you're their favorite pain in the butt.
5. Your stupid choices are excused. While they have take full responsibility all the time, you can still blame your poor choices on your age. What can you say? You're young!
So don't bash on being the youngest, because it's not all bad. Some parts can be annoying, but soon enough you'll be where everyone else is - wishing you were still young. Enjoy being young and embrace all that it has to offer!
