Dear Nieces & Nephews:
I hope that this letter finds you well. Your Tia would like to share some words with you and for the people that share my joy. I would never have imagined that one person, that I, would have the capacity to Love unconditionally some incredible human beings, my nieces, and nephews.
I have shared many amazing moments with my nieces and nephews. They definitely range in ages from the oldest niece being 19 years old in college to my nephew exploring the world at 2 years old. My loves have become an immense part of my life! I thank the heavens, my siblings for the great honor and blessing of being a Tia (Aunt). My oldest niece is a brilliant lovely young woman that I truly adore. We have a wonderful bond and we have a beautiful relationship!
I’ve not only been blessed with being a Tia one time. I actually have 11 wonderful nieces and nephews in counting, as there is a baby on the way! I have been able to watch them develop and become their own person during their various stages of development. They have the ability to change my day, altering my mood for the better with their funny stories and their clever comments. I love and cherish them like they were my own. It is because of them that I would like to be the Best Sister, Tia, and Mom one day. They are my world and I cherish my time with them dearly!
Being an Aunt has taught me that I actually have the capacity to passionately Love so many people deeply, to love unconditionally, and to cherish every moment I spend with my loves. I have learned to cherish their unique, at times dramatic personalities, but that comes with the Aunt territory.
My nieces and nephews are extremely wonderful! I have changed diapers more times than I can even count, seen my niece practice her dance routine, seen my nephew brilliantly act during a play, my nephew score a winning goal at his soccer game and even witness immense excited from their beautiful smiles when they open their birthday presents. I wouldn’t trade being an Aunt for the World.
Since my freshman year of High school I have been babysitting and taking care of my nieces and nephews. I’ve seen them grow, explore the world, and achieving many of their personal goals. I have walked hand in hand with them as they engage in their hobbies, extracurricular activities, and passions.
Not only do I get to teach them new games, enhance their knowledge, and show them how much I care, but I get to be completely silly with them. I enjoy playing board games with them, going to the park, watching tv shows-movies, going bowling, going out to dinner and even shopping! My nieces and nephews, especially the older ones, have become my partners in crime, they tend to follow my lead, and we honestly have so much fun together! With my nieces and nephews, I get to re-live my childhood! For the people that know me, they know how much I value Family and how important my love ones are to me, one day I hope to become a wonderful mother, but for now, I have the honor to spend quality time with my “loves” (nieces and nephews). I get to have wonderful conversations with them, they open up, share their thoughts with me and I am always willing to help in any way.
As their Aunt, I want them to know that they will always have a person to confide in. Someone that true loves them and cares for them deeply. I want them to know that Life is precious and they need to make the most of it. That I enjoy making new memories with them. I want them to know that I honestly want to be the Best Tia (Aunt), I hope that God blesses me with the honor of one day becoming a Wonderful Mother.
If you have a nephew or a niece, the feeling of complete joy and happiness when you see them is unexplainable.
To my nieces and nephews, I want you to know that the year that we were apart was completely brutal, but I want you to know that I am passionate about education and fighting for educational equity. For me, education is very important and I hope you all can find your individual passions, so you can each pursue and live your dreams. I want my nieces and nephews to take the time to cherish every moment and the people they encounter ‘because you become the company you keep’. I am their Tia and will always be with them in their Hearts. The joy you have brought to my life leaves me speechless, at a true loss for words.
To my loves who I truly cherish, may you never forget how much I Love you and what you mean to me! Being a Tia is my Favorite! I Love Being your Aunt!
