Some college students love the single life. Freedom, making out with whomever you want, more freedom, not being tied down, even more freedom. To many it sounds like a paradise, but to me, it sounds like torture.
I've been single all throughout college and never bought into the hookup scene. Long story short, finding a guy who wants something even remotely serious is far from easy. Luckily, I have developed a sense of humor about it, as well as my good friends from the Upper East Side.
1. When everyone around you is coupled up.
2. "I can set you up with his best friend."
3. Vicarously living through romantic comedies.
4. "Maybe you're still single because you're such a bitch."
5. When you go a little overboard with a crush, and your best friend has to talk sense into you.
6. When you see the guy you've been talking to making out with a girl you do not like.
7. When a "friend" hooks up with a guy you like, despite knowing you like him.
8. When a potential future BF turns out to be a jerk.
9. "I'm going out tonight, hope to see you there!"
10. The feeling of pure joy when you find a good guy to hang out with.
11. "Catching" feelings.
12. The disappointment that comes along with rejection.
13. What you keep telling yourself when things don't work out.
14. When someone who screwed you over shows up at the same party you're at.
15. "Being in a relationship is such a hassle; sometimes I wish I was still single."
16. When you walk into a party feeling more confident than ever
17. Hearing all of your friends hookup stories the next morning.
18. "Any guy would be so lucky to have you!"
19. Champagne is bae.
20. But at the end of the day, you always remind yourself how awesome you really are!
You know you love me.
XOXO,
