Let’s face it, no one likes being sick. Being sick while you’re at college might be the worst thing to have to deal with, especially when trying to juggle classes, meetings, commitments, and even jobs. So let’s turn to our favorite musician (and shoeshinist) to see what he has to say about trying to get through college life while sick.
1. When you feel the sickness coming on.
You always think: this can't be happening. Everyone around you is getting sick and you did not want to be next.2. When you get hit with symptoms.
Sneezing, coughing, you name it. When you get sick at college, you get hit hard. Andy’s sneezing (while a little over the top) definitely hits home for anyone who’s been hindered by a cold in class.3. When the exhaustion from being sick sets in.
Truer words have never been spoken, especially when all you want to do is watch Netflix and sleep instead of studying.4. When you realize that you were very ill-prepared to get sick and now have to buy medicine of some kind.
This is all too true if you’re a student like me who didn’t expect to be getting sick so early in the semester. Excuse me while I Google if I can mix DayQuil and Mucinex DM without dying.
5. When you finally cave in and go to the health center on campus, pretending you know what medicine the doctor is giving you.
Honestly, it doesn’t really matter, because if you take what you’re supposed to when you’re supposed to, you’ll feel loads better. These guys know what they’re doing.6. When you try to get from class to class throughout the day without dropping dead.
Forget running; sometimes just walking up hills while sick makes you want to forgo class altogether. Unfortunately, that undergrad isn’t going to get itself, so you can’t just lie down like Andy.
7. When the medicine makes you drowsy... and a little bit weird (I'm looking at you, NyQuil).

8. When you try doing homework while sick, especially when your energy and effort just don't exist.
Homework is one thing, but writing papers or studying for a test? It’s enough to make you give up (but whatever you do, don’t turn on Netflix. Watching Netflix when you’re sick is a GAME OVER).9. When you realize that you're starting to feel a little bit better.
That moment when you discover you can breathe through your nose again makes all the medicine and the trudging around campus so, so worth it.10. When you're finally not sick anymore.
You feel like you just want to celebrate, mostly because you’re not coughing every two minutes and don’t have to carry around wads of tissues wherever you go.11. When you get back to that college life and realize that ultimately:
What college kid doesn’t relate to these words? So go forth, fellow student! Earn that degree, and just remember that the wonderful Andy Dwyer is always here for you!
