Being Overly Sensitive Is A-Okay!

People tell you every day that you cry too much, or you’re too sensitive or -- my personal favorite -- you care too much. I would rather be full of emotions and sensitive than have no emotions at all. There is no explanation as to why people are overly emotional or overly sensitive but it can sometimes be a good thing. There are many many reasons in this daily life that can make somebody become even more emotional than ever before. Being highly sensitive doesn’t make you any less of a human being, you are not broken nor do you have anything to fix about yourself. Being overly sensitive or being overly emotional will most definitely lead to tears, tears and even more tears.

“Never apologize for being sensitive or emotional. Let this be a sign that you’ve got a big heart and aren’t afraid to let others see it. Showing your emotions is a sign of strength.” -- Brigitte Nicole

People are always going to make fun of you or laugh at you or even, maybe, call you names like “cry baby” or “wussy.” They are never going to understand why you get the way you do in certain situations, it takes a special type of person to understand you in those situations and those people are your parents!

Being overly sensitive comes from having such a soft heart and giving people, or just everything in general, the benefit of the doubt and trusting before knowing. Those may be weaknesses to outsiders but to you, that makes you who you are.

You are the only one in your friend group that carries tissues or napkins with you into the movie theater because there is always the chance that you will spontaneously start crying and you don’t want to leave in the middle of the movie.

You are the only one that cries or says “awe” during kid's movies, and your friends are constantly laughing at you.

Literally everything, from when you see a baby in a cute little tutu or a little tuxedo onesie to when somebody dies in a movie or a tv show, makes you cry.

If you are emotional and sensitive, you'll be able to relate to things better, you'll be less judgmental, and you will simply understand people easier, and most people like when they are understood and when they have somebody to relate too. You may think it's a bad thing that you are overly sensitive or emotional but fear not, you have nothing wrong with you and you mustn't think like that.

Don’t let anybody ever tell you that being too sensitive is lame or stupid or just plain ridiculous because having those emotions make you the real you. Overly sensitive people see things different than those who lack in that area, they see the life through love, through the heart and through feel.

The most important thing to value when being overly sensitive is that people trust you and they come and talk to you and discuss their problems with you and they can count on you to understand everything without a second explanation.

Understanding things in a deeper way is the only motto that sensitive people should live by.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
