I spent most of my childhood doing what I wanted whenever I wanted to. I have always had people ask me, "Aren't you spoiled?" or "Don't you ever get bored?" The answer is no. My parents have always taught me valuable lessons on getting the things I want and just like everyone else, I have to work hard for it. As for getting bored? No way, I have an amazing group of friends that have always been a part of my life in ways that replaced the siblings role. I would always get utterly jealous of my friends and their siblings because they would always have their brothers and sisters to go to for advice help. However, I have learned that there are other great qualities in being an only child and that it is okay. Many of the stereotypes that people think of when they think of being an only child is that it's all about being spoiled, but you're closer to your parents because parents with multiple children have to pretend that they love all their children equally and don’t have a favorite when they clearly do.
So, for all you out there who are only children, it is clearly okay because there are many advantages that we have over others!
