Nearly one-third of millennials leave religion for the sake of anti-gay teachings.
To most of you, this probably isn't even a shock. Heck, when I had my fall-out with Christianity back in high-school, the treatment of LGBT in the Bible as well as from high standing church officials was a huge contributing factor.
It was only recently, drawn back into a world I left behind, that I started to read deeper. Finding beauty and strength in many of the stories and metaphors, I began to wonder how such an amazing selection could grate so hard against one's orientation.
Then I watched this:
Shocking, huh?
A persecution that has been occurring for years could be the same reason you're told by your Spanish teacher to not use Google Translate for homework.
The reactions in many of the comment sections?
Not pretty.
Then again, I sometimes wonder how many people even read deeper into the good book. A passage that likely isn't quoted much that hasn't lost it's translation is Proverbs 12:10:
"The righteous know the needs of their animals, but the mercy of the wicked is cruel."
Keep that in mind as you view the following:
None of us are perfect, so attacking others without putting yourself in their shoes is nothing short of hypocrisy. A wise man once said it even better.
So the next time you hear someone try to use The Bible to justify their hatred, ask them what's for dinner.
It just may just be food for thought.
