Both of my brothers are in relationships right now. And even though I'm super happy that they're happy, I simply cannot help it when my overprotective sisterly instincts kick in.

Naturally, any sibling will look after the others; I know my brothers also have my back. But being older and being an older sister makes me more protective. They drive me crazy, but if they're ever in trouble, I'm always going to be there.

While relationships and people come and go, family is forever. And for that special lady my brothers have grown feelings for, there are some things you should know before you date my brothers:

1) I loved him first.

From the moment he was born, I swore to protect him and help him learn everything he needs to learn. Just like I was the first to tease him and joke around with him, I was also the first to love him unconditionally.

2) First impressions are important.

My family is crazy, as is every family. So when we start getting comfortable having you around, don't be shy and don't judge. If we start getting crazy, it's because we like you.

3) I want him to be happy...

...and if you make him happy, then we can all get along. But if you don't, I can be your worst nightmare.

4) You need to have his back.

Because I'll still tease him and joke around with him and he needs someone on his side.

5) We will discuss your relationship when you're not around.

And although guys don't share as much as girls, we know when things are good and when things are not. And we will always side with him.

6) Don't try to be my best friend

I don't want to be best friends. That only happens in movies. What I want is for you to treat him right and to know that if you don't, I'll come after you.

7) You need to love him unconditionally.

Because he talks about you all the time and I roll my eyes at how romantic my little brother can be. So, love him unconditionally and we won't have a problem.

Now, if that scared you a bit, trust me when I say that was not my intention. These are things you should know, if you don't already, before you date my brother and are welcomed into our family, because we WILL welcome you with open arms.

Just remember that they will always be my little brothers, no matter how much taller and bigger they get.
