14 Times The World Actually "Ended"

Because even though it's not the apocalypse yet, it might as well be

14 Times The World Actually "Ended"

There's been a lot of talk on social media, actual media, and this thing called "real-life conversation" about the end of the world. Apparently, when the sky does something cool and then the things on Earth do a lot of things that are decidedly uncool, it's cause for concern. But I would like to remind you of those times when the world actually did end in the past, and yes, it was your fault.

1. That time you dropped your ice cream cone at the carnival.

You poor, poor child. You just stood there as the tears cascaded down your face onto the mound of mint chocolate chip.

2. That time you found out your 6th-grade crush didn't like you back.

Even though he was, like, always texting you and, like, never texting Becky. What did he even see in her???

3. That time you fell down the stairs in front of, like, 20 people.

This may have been the end of the world for you, but it was so funny that I don't think anyone cares.

4. That time you turned in your biology assignment late.

Because you just had to watch the season premiere of "Game of Thrones."

5. That time you turned in that English assignment late.

Because you just had to watch the season finale of "Game of Thrones."

6. That time you turned in that government assignment on time but failed it anyway.

Because you just had to watch your GPA crumble because really, why even go on if season seven's over?

7. That time you got pulled over for speeding.

The cop was all smiles and giggles until you tried to bribe him with a Whataburger gift card.

8. That time you couldn't make the concert because your cousin that you barely talk to had a birthday party.

Thanks a lot, Darren.

9. That time you got grounded for breaking curfew.

"Mom, I'm 15. You have to stop treating me like a child." -every 15-year-old ever

10. That time you spilled soda on your $200 prom dress before you even left the house.

But this one's mostly your fault for spending all your babysitting money on one worthless night.

11. That time your prom date left you in the middle of prom.

OK, this one's kind of personal.

12. You really had a terrible prom experience, didn't you?

No, it wasn't that bad. I just didn't dance. Or really move from my seat. Or... yeah. It was rough.

13. That time your friend posted that really nasty picture of you on Instagram.

Is that something people care about? I think that's something people care about.

14. That time you realized that the world isn't actually ending and you put off your homework for nothing.

Good luck, guys. Sorry the universe didn't kill you and everything else.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
