I can perfectly recall the first time I looked up a beauty tutorial on YouTube; I was a naive freshman in high school who wanted to learn the art of hair blow-drying. I came across a video by Jarmaine Santiago, better known as JLovesMac1. Her humor, advice and expertise was more than I could have hoped for (and later turned into a three hour marathon of catching up on her other inviting tutorials). To this day I watch her videos and discovered numerous other beauty vloggers that have kept me up to date on how to master the latest beauty trends. The YouTube beauty community is truly something else. I'd recommend their help to anyone who needs assistance with their beauty routine.
1. Heart Defensor (ThatsHeart)
Heart started out as a guest on JLovesMac1's channel and has since then created her own channel and vlog style. Her signature cat eyes, cute pets and joyful personality make her videos memorable. Heart posts new videos every week featuring both beauty and clothing trends, and if we're lucky, her cute fiance or best friend Anne.
2. Ingrid Nilsen (Ingrid Nilsen)
Ingrid's energy is always shining through in her videos. Whether she's filming a CoverGirl makeup tutorial, showing us a new recipe or getting real and talking about social issues, she sure does know how to grab our attention!
3. Jarmaine Santiago (JLovesMac1)
Jarmaine's honesty and sassy personality are what make her videos unique. She creates the perfect combination of realness and professionalism in her videos. About a year ago she went on a YouTube break and since then has revamped her videos to be more than just beauty related. She also talks a lot about fitness and her personal experiences on top of beauty.
4. Michelle Phan (Michelle Phan)
Michelle has also gone though a recent revamp of her channel. Rather than filming strictly beauty tutorials, she has created more advice and trend reports lately--and we're loving it! Her tutorials wouldn't be the same without her soothing voice and zen undertone. Michelle has created memorable looks from her famous Barbie makeup to soft, selfie-worthy makeup.
5. Weylie Hoang (ilikeweylie)
Weylie has always provided her viewers with wholesome, honest content. She is an advocate for using cruelty-free products and always tries to use them in her videos. Her videos range from get-ready-with-me tutorials to laughable hacks on how to prevent bad breath.
