I recently went to go see Beauty and the Beast...and LOVED it. If you haven't seen it, I dare you to go see it. The movie theater was packed, people were on the edge of their seats crying and laughing, and the picture was perfect. But as I was watching, can I draw a parallel between the characters then and relate them to as if they were in college? Well, I'm sure going to try.

Belle: the English major

Belle would be the girl who is always studying, reading, or always dreaming of a better future. She doesn't go out and party like the rest of the student body but instead she focuses on her education and doing things that matter to her. She sticks to her beliefs and doesn't stray from them. She also rejects Gaston, the typical frat boy, so that's her. She also goes home to visit her family a lot.

Gaston: the typical frat boy, business major

This is the boy that all your friends tell you to stay away from but you just can't get enough of him. He flatters himself all too well by saying how "lit" he was at the party last night. He always has a flock of girls in his text messages and his Snapchat story is all of him. He makes the puppy Snapchat filter way too much and is constantly looking at himself in the camera trying to get that perfect lighting. He's the one to stay away from, ladies. Be like Belle. Don't go for Gaston.

The Beast: the one that hides in the shadows but has a big heart on the inside, political science major

This is the guy that is always friend-zoned. He's shy but once he opens up you can really hear him roar. Don't let this guy slip away, ladies, he could be your prince. Keep an eye out on your beast. He's the one that hides in the shadows waiting for the girl he loves to come back to him and love him the way he is and not the way society wants him to be. You might get a castle out of him.

Lumiere: your best friend, hospitality and tourism major

Lumiere is like your right-hand man that always gives you the light in a dark situation. He gives it to you like it's real. He'll be your best friend and biggest supporter but he'll also be your therapist. He's a keeper alright.

Cadenza (the clock): the one that thinks who is always right, management major

This is the teacher's pet. They're always at office hours, seen in the library all night studying for one quiz, and reminds the professor that they have homework due. They also ask a lot of questions in class. Cadenza would not have many friends, only Lumiere, who is friends with everybody. He would always say what the right thing to do is, no matter the consequences. He's definitely a rule follower.

Mrs. Potts: your mom, your professor

She's the one that moved to your college town just so she could be close to her son, Chip. She smothers you but only in your best interest. She gives you advice on how to be the best version of yourself and to be genuine and honest. She helps the friendzoned beast get out of the friend zone, so she is basically the Fairy Godmother of College. Where's my fairy godmother?

Chip: the eager freshman skipping on the way to class, undecided major

This is the person everyone hates to see at 8 a.m. on Monday morning. While the rest of the world is recovering from the crazy weekend, this person is so eager with their backpack full of notebooks and pencils to get to class.

The Beauty and the Beast is a magical movie and that campus with all these magical creatures is the campus where I wanna be.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
