As schools have let out and summer has come, many students may find themselves feeling bored and not knowing what to do with all their extra time. Instead of binge watching Netflix all summer, here are better ways to spend your time.
1. Find your hobbies.
Whether it be learning how to play an instrument, sewing, or drawing, spend your time doing something you enjoy. When school starts back up, you will not have as much time to do what you enjoy.
2. Plan a day trip with a friend.
Set aside money for food and gas and plan a trip for one day to somewhere fun, like a waterpark or the beach.
3. Try out food recipes.
Whether you want to learn how to cook or just want to try out new recipes, the summer is a great time to do that, especially if you will be getting an apartment or house when school starts back up.
4. Exercise.
Plan a summer workout and stick to it. To help keep yourself accountable and to make it more fun, you may want to have a friend as a workout buddy.
5. Volunteer.
You can check with local animal adoption centers to see if they need help. There are also opportunities to volunteer for the elderly at nursing homes. Research local volunteering opportunities to see what you can do to help.
