If you are in need of a beach trip at your home in central Pennsylvania, try visiting these 7 "beaches" in the surrounding area!

1. Whipple Dam

Located in Petersburg, Pennsylvania, Whipple Dam's beachfront is open to the public. The area is also surrounded by miles of gravel trails that are perfect for running or hiking!

2. Bald Eagle State Park

In Howard, Pennsylvania, Bald Eagle State Park offers a variety of options for a fun summer night. At Bald Eagle, you can relax on the beach, rent kayaks or paddle boards, or hike in the surrounding trails.

3. Colyer Lake

Located just outside of Boalsburg, Pennsylvania, Colyer Lake is the perfect place to relax on the sand. Hiking trails cross the water, creating a beautiful surrounding area. You cannot swim in the lake, but you can bring canoes or boats to sail on the water.

4. Poe Valley State Park

In the heart of Penn Township, Pennsylvania is Poe Valley State Park. A forest encloses the beach, allowing for a more relaxing time on the beachfront.

5. City Island Beach

City Island Beach, near Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, houses a lovely beach close to the city. Take advantage of the sand with some friends this summer!

6. Black Moshannon State Park

This state park, located in Philipsburg, Pennsylvania, consists of a small beachfront surrounded by an enchanting forest. The hiking trails are a very popular tourist attraction in central Pennsylvania!
