Beach Vacation Essentials According to UF Tri Delts

I don’t know about you but when I’m traveling -- especially somewhere like the beach -- I want to relax. Being my high-strung self (ex. the 50 alarm clocks on my iPhone or my planner that has events planned through 2017) one aspect of vacation that always gets me just a little more stressed out than it should is what I am going to wear.

I’ve made your life a little easier: here are five easy, go-to beach looks that you can put together whether you’re going to Laguna Beach, California or Nice, France (stay tuned- I’m foreshadowing a future article here people.)

Today, some of my dear friends from my sorority, Tri Delta at the University of Florida, have modeled some effortless and re-creatable beach looks for your next vacation.

First, we have Becca White from Tallahassee, Florida. Becca likes to keep her look minimalistic and simple: these pieces are definitely something you already own in your closet. Becca is wearing a H&M white swimsuit bottom, Ray-Ban Clubmaster sunglasses, a Blue Pepper sweater from a boutique called Spriggs in Tallahassee and Tory Burch sandals (even though you can’t see them).

Annie Ostrander is lucky enough to live where most of us would vacation in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Annie’s outfit is perfect for going to the beach and being able to easily transition that look into a casual lunch or dinner. Annie is wearing shorts from a surf store in Fort Lauderdale, an Urban Outfitters blouse, and a San Lorenzo bandeau bathing suit top. My personal favorite aspect of Annie's look are her 70's-inspired Ray-Ban Round Flash Lenses.

Sarah Casey, from Tampa, Florida, is known for her bohemian-inspired outfits. The beach is no exception to this. Sarah is wearing a yellow blouse from Deborah Kents, a boutique in Tampa, a Free People fringe bag, denim distressed shorts from Urban Outfitters, Ray-Ban Clubmaster sunglasses, and the ever-so-popular Birkenstock Arizona sandals. Birkenstocks have been huge this season and have been seen on everyone from Miranda Kerr to Heidi Klum.

Mariya Markova, from Saint Petersburg, Florida is the recent founder of her own boutique Kova. Mariya is wearing the “Stripped Delight Playsuit” and a Calvin Klein hat that is perfect for walking around a beach-side town (this looks like something I would wear walking around in St. Augustine, Florida.) You can buy her pieces online at kovaboutique.com and follow Kova on Instagram @kovaboutique.

Hailey Robles Holmes, from Boca Raton, Florida is also wearing a piece from Kova Boutique’s collection. This red, scalloped dress is the perfect piece for a beachside dinner or a formal night on a cruise. You can purchase this “Scalloped Summer Dress” online at kovaboutique.com.

So there you have it. A beach vacation should be relaxing and now you have one less thing to worry about.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
