Approximately 7.6 billion people are roaming our world. Each face you pass by is distinct from the others, each voice you hear sends out different wavelengths from the next and each smile you see is curved differently compared to the rest.
We may have the same interests as the person sitting next to us, but the souls we have inside of us differ from one another. We all have certain aspects of ourselves that make us different. Some of us show these differences with pride, while some of us mask them. It is time to stop masking our differences, and it is time to embrace them.
At times, people mask their differences so that they can fit in. My question is: What is the excitement about fitting in? Sure, it is nice to have friends who watch the same shows and listen to the same music. It leaves you with tons of things to talk about.
However, when your interests are unique from those around you, you can show them an entire world they might be missing out on. You can introduce them to a show they never watched before and a band that they never heard of. They might even end up loving it.
Even if they don't end up liking it, that's OK. It's OK to enjoy classical music. It's OK to love black and white films. It's OK to find interest in things that others might deem boring.
One's interests are not the only way they may mask their differences. At times, one dims a burning passion just so that they can seem cool. Even if those around you don't find excitement in something you are passionate about, keep being expressing your enthusiasm.
If you are passionate about writing, music, movies, books, sports or even a certain public figure, don't ever hold in your excitement. Tweet about it, post about it on Instagram, make millions of statuses about it and keep showing your love for it. Passion fills one's life with color and purpose.
Do what makes you happy, and stop caring what others think. At the end of the day, someone will always find something negative to say, so you might as well do what makes you the happiest.
You should never change for the worst, just to impress someone. That is a way to invite the wrong people into your life. On the other hand, when you choose to be yourself, people will get a sense of your real character. And they will always love you for who you are.
Your true character is beautiful, so learn to love it. Learning to love who you are is a long journey that everyone can achieve because everyone truly is beautiful.
Focus on making your soul flourish by planting seeds of kindness. Never withhold your true self to fit in or to impress someone. Always stay true to yourself. Your differences are beautiful; your differences make up the wonderful person that you are.
Always be yourself, always be kind and never change for anyone. You have the power to be anybody you want to be.
