Over J-term, I visited Bangalore, India. It was such a life-changing experience. But with so many things to do, you might get overwhelmed. Here are the nine best things I did.
The Bangalore Cafe
Bobbie Hall
Great menu, great drinks, wonderful scenery.
Bangalore Palace
Bobbie Hall
While the inside at times was underwhelming, the outside makes up for everything!
Koshy's Parade Cafe
Bobbie Hall
If you're looking for a place with great food to remind you of small-town USA, look no further! Koshy's is both a walking distance from the more upscale places of town (including Starbucks!), a children's park, and a green space!
Tuktuks (Auto Rickshaws)
They're even attached to Uber apps. This is not a place, but an experience in itself that you MUST try!
Lalbagh Botanical Garden
Bobbie Hall
Probably one of my favorite places of my trip, it was beautiful and such a nice change of scenery from the typical hustle of India!
A "slum"
Bobbie Hall
If you're using it as an academic experience, be sure to experience all ways of life!
Slurp!
Bobbie Hall
Definitely be sure to visit Slurp! It's a restaurant created to teach people how to make traditional Indian dishes!
Commercial Street
Bobbie Hall
With so much to buy, you have to visit this location. There are plenty of street vendors and regular stores to accommodate anyone you're trying to buy souvenirs for. You can even get Henna!
Christ University!
Bobbie Hall
If you get the chance, visit Christ! It is a beautiful campus with amazing students, faculty, and staff! Christ students were hands-down the best part of our entire trip!
Someday I hope to get back to India, but for now, I'll keep remembering how good all the food was and wishing I had it here in the US.
Seriously, the food is AMAZING.
