5 Tips To Balancing A Busy Schedule

Often times you get stuck with a very busy schedule whether it is during the summer or during the school year. This summer I am juggling two jobs, an internship, and a couple of classes. I know that many people have the same schedule as I do, if not busier and so I would like to share 5 tips on how to balance your busy schedule.

1. Get a planner

Giphy

A planner can go a long way. That way you can plan each week and keep track of all of your schedules and due dates. Sometimes with a busy schedule, it is easy to lose track of what you have to do each day and so if you write it down then it makes it easier to remember.

2. Get a good nights rest

Giphy

When your schedule is slammed it can be hard to remember to get a good amount of sleep. Getting a good nights rest is very important because you want your body to be energized for each busy day. Try to remember to let your body rest.

3. Make time in your schedule for fun things

It can be easy to lose touch with the things you would do for fun like meet up with friends or hang out with family but try to make time to do those things too. You will drive yourself crazy if you are only working throughout your entire summer or semester. Don't forget to treat yourself.

4. Don't skip breakfast

Tenor

Skipping breakfast is a common thing when someone has a busy schedule but breakfast is an important meal. It helps you jump start your day. Even if it is a bagel and a coffee that morning.

5. Remember that hard work pays off

Giphy

Remind yourself why you are working this hard and what you plan to accomplish. Keep yourself motivated by keeping your eye on the prize, whether your goal is to save money, get credit for school or to move your way up in your job. Sometimes it doesn't feel like it but hard work does pay off.

You might get stressed and feel like you are running on a treadmill but you can reach your goal as long as you keep yourself balanced. Keep working hard but don't forget to take care of yourself while you are. Good luck with your busy schedule and I hope you reach your goals.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
