1. Carol Peletier - The Walking Dead

This seems like the most obvious on this list, solely based on her transformation. As a character, Carol went from an abused, sheltered housewife to a key, core member of the Survivors on AMC's hit television show, "The Walking Dead." Known for making tough decisions or difficult tasks happen, Carol Peletier leads the list.

2. Pamela Swynford De Beaufort - True Blood

At the time this show aired, vampires were all the rage, and with its share of edgy characters, "True Blood" had no shortage of badass characters. The woman who took the cake though, was a secondary character known as Pam. An ex-madam turned vampire/entrepreneur, Pam had no problem letting people know who was in charge, earning her a spot for "Take-No-Shit" attitude and amazing collection of heels.

3. Jessica Lange - American Horror Story

Jessica Lange has had a revolving set of characters on FX's "American Horror Story," and she slays as all from a fierce, misplaced Southern debutante to the Supreme of the witches, hell-bent on remaining vital and youthful, Lange proves that there is truly only one queen of American Horror Story, and she holds that title

4. The Bride - "Kill Bill" & "Kill Bill 2"

A former assassin killed on her wedding day by her ex- colleagues and boyfriend, the Bride proves just how much Hell-hath-no-fury-like-a-woman-scorned-and-left-for-dead will go to avenge her attempted murder and death of her child. From taking on the Crazy 88, to hunting down her attackers one-by-one and crawling out of her grave, the Bride proves just because they tried to kill her, does not mean she will sit back and play it safe.

5. Hermione Granger - The "Harry Potter" series

Hermione Granger was the epitome of badass in the "Harry Potter" series. An outcast due to her birth, Hermione proved that just because she was "unpure" it did not mean she couldn't amount to something. From befriending The Boy Who Lived, to tracking down Horcuxes, and taking on He-Who-Must-Not-Be Named, Hermione truly carried more than her weight and then some in the "Harry Potter" franchise.

6. Leticia Ortiz - The "Fast & Furious" franchise

As the only female driver left standing in the "Fast and Furious" franchise, Leticia "Letty" Ortiz, has become an integral component of the most popular racing movie franchise in the world. Starting out as a highway robber with her boyfriend and friends, Letty proved she was more than just a pretty face in the gang, taking on arms dealers, weapons smugglers, FBI agents and assassins with nothing more than her fists and six cylinders.

7. The Halliwell sisters - "Charmed"

Piper, Phoebe, and Paige Halliwell took on demons, warlocks and all types of night creatures in the successful television series Charmed. They kicked ass of whatever monster threatened them and proved that just because they were girls, didn't mean they were helpless. Taking on demons, monsters, and at times, each other, the Halliwell sisters proved how badass it was to be a witch in the 21st century.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
