A Bad Day In College

We all have bad days, but bad COLLEGE days are a completely different beast.

A Bad Day In College

Please let me preface this article by saying that I have NOT had a good day. I'm sick, hungry, and exhausted. But this is not just something I am dealing with, these emotions plague most college students every day of the year.

First off, dorm life is the worst. I never realized how disgusting other people were until I began living with 600 nasty teenagers. How do you drop cantaloupe all over the hall? And then how did you make the decision that you were then going to leave it there to accumulate hair and mold. Also, WHY IS THE FLOOR ALWAYS STICKY?! Oh, and who can forget the black mold in our bathroom. Not me! Because it is literally killing me and my suitemate.

Which leads me to my second point, how are all these kids so germy? You would think that we are still in preschool with the way germs spread around this place. I wash my hands so often, but then the nasty kid in the elevator COUGHS IN YOUR MOUTH. YES, THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENED. Don't yawn in public guys, it's deadly.

Next, my old friend the dining hall. Everything we college kids do is childish, but yet our dining hall decides to serve the most adulty nasty food ever. How many college kids do you know that are just always craving fish tacos?? Probably not enough for our dining hall to serve them every week.

And to my last and final point, the exhaustion that comes with being a college student. And not even does the exhaustion alone suck, but also how college students glamorize lack of sleep. Yesterday I heard in the library two girls fighting over who had the least amount of sleep.

Thank you for reading my rant about my horrible day, I hope yours wasn't as horrible.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
