It is that time of the semester again. The time when you have two or three midterms in a day, or have five seven-page papers due in a week. We all deal with midterm season in our own ways. My favorite is to do some quick cheering up. And the best way to do some cheering up is to look at animals, or, even better, baby animals. Really, what is better than baby animals?
Cats
Kittens, my personal favorite, are great because they're usually not just balls of fluff. They are often pretty hilarious too. They do funny things because they don't know better, or they react in a funny way when something happens. Their personalities really shine through when they encounter something they're not used to, and it is typically pretty entertaining for the rest of us. A great comic relief when our brains are overwhelmed with the troubles and stress of midterms.
Puppies are amazing. We all know it. They are just the creatures that you want to grab and hug and cuddle with all day long. They're cuteness is too much to handle, so it is OK to let out a squeal of excitement here and there. The other great thing about puppies is that there are so many different kinds. No matter what mood you're in or what kind of puppies you like, there are cute puppies out there for you. It can be difficult to find puppies on campus, so while we may not get to play with them on a regular basis, we can look at pictures of them online and imagine taking a quick study break to cuddle and play with adorable puppies.
Exotic Animals
Exotic animals are special in their own way. They are adorable, but they're also cool. You can look at animals that you don't get to see often, and you can appreciate their cuteness all at once. You also may be surprised by the cuteness level of some of these animals because you may have never thought of them in that way, but believe me, some of the cutest animals are those that you may not have expected to be cute at all.
Midterms can be really difficult for everyone. It seems like the semester has just started, but then you realize how much you really have learned, and in turn, how much you are going to be tested on. It may be a very stressful time for you, and that is understandable because it is a stressful time for everyone. The most important thing to do, besides look at adorable pictures of baby animals, is to try not to get overwhelmed and stress yourself out even more than you need to be. Another great tool on campus is the Academic Resource Center. They have wonderful helpful hints that will push you through midterm season!
