Some of Avatar: The Last Airbender's Best MEMEnts

As an appreciator of memes, and as a fan of Avatar: The Last Airbender, I intend to improve YOUR day by reminding you of some of the best memes made in HONOR-

of the beloved cartoon.

1. The On-Point Tea tumblr Post

Meme analysis: This meme celebrates one of the best-loved characters, Uncle Iroh. He is relatable because he loves food and peace-making, but will fight fiercely for those he loves. With this prime screenshot, one understands all that Iroh is, and all that any individual can be if they aspire to be like him.

2. The JustZukoThings Fleek Eyebrow

Meme analysis: This meme mocks the saccharine-sweet "justgirlythings" account AND the Prince Zuko's vain nature, all at once! Double bully for you, my good memers.

3. The Avatar Theme Reconstructed For 2016 Politics

Meme analysis: This meme is gratifying because most Americans feel tense about the current presidential campaigns. Humor is one of the main ways that people release their tension (for instance, the Bad Lip Reading videos have never been more popular.) This meme is definitely imperfect- by making Hillary Clinton the stand-in for Katara, it implies that Hillary would want Bernie to "save America." The meme's lack of streamlined logic does not ruin its appeal, though.

4. One (of many) Cactus Juice Memes

Meme analysis: Cactus juice is like drugs, and when Sokka experiences a dehydrated trip in the desert, cactus juice only makes things worse (but funnier for the audience). People always think drugs are funny, so this meme is a classic.

5. The Starbucks Mermaid Connection

Meme analysis: The imagery here is immaculate, and "javatar" is a darned good pun. I also have to agree that there is a connection between the heightened state that coffee endows us with and the pure energy generated when the Avatar is lifted off the ground in a cocoon of blue light.

6. "My Cabbages!" Evolving Meme

This meme was always meant to be a meme. The writers of the show sprinkled cameos of the meek but passionate cabbage vendor throughout different seasons of the show, and the A:TLA fans noticed. So when the cabbage vendor appeared in the show's spin-off series, Legend of Korra, with increased success and an entire "cabbage corp," fans went wild. People like repetition as well as the random sort of humor popularized by iCarly. "Cabbages!" Lol!

7. "That's Rough, Buddy" Reaction GIF

This GIF can never die because it's always useful as a chill reaction to someone else's suffering.

Thanks, Avatar: The Last Airbender, for giving us these timeless memes that will be appreciated for years to come.

Play us out, Secret Tunnel Band.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
