What's the best season, you ask? The answer is simple: Autumn. From the slight breeze to the bonfires, there are countless reasons why the other seasons just don't compare. Here are a few of the many.
1. Fall has the perfect weather.
Not to be all "Goldilocks" here, but winter's too cold, summer's too hot, spring's too rainy, fall is just right. Almost every day has "sweater weather" and the leaves changing color on the trees is so beautiful. Not to mention some of the greatest nature pictures are taken during the fall. Here is one I took last year.
2. Halloween.
There's something special about Halloween. No matter how old you are, you can get pumped for it. Whether you like dressing up, going to Fright Fest, or just eating candy corn, there's an aspect of it for everyone, I mean, who doesn't love "The Sanderson Sisters"?
3. Seasonal foods and drinks.
If you're like me, you're the first one in the Starbucks line when they bring back the pumpkin spice latte. There are so many delicious treats that belong to autumn: apple cider, candy corn, caramel apples, apple pie, pumpkin pie (really any pie). Not to mention there's a whole holiday dedicated to stuffing your face.
4. It's a cozy season.
There's nothing "cozy" about spring or summer. Winter is cozy, but it can be too cold sometimes. Fall is the best time to cozy up with a blanket, a Bath and Body Works fall candle, hot chocolate and a good book. If that doesn't make you excited for fall, I don't know what will. I mean, look at this!
5. All the activities!
Fall is the season of fun: apple picking, pumpkin picking, haunted houses, pumpkin carving, the list goes on.
6. Football games.
Football games deserve their own category. In high school, there was nothing better than going to a Friday night football game with friends. If you are lucky enough to go to a college with a football team, the tradition lives on!
7. The anticipation for the holidays.
You might be thinking, the holidays are a winter thing! True. But, in my opinion, the best part of the holiday season is the time spent beforehand building up excitement for it. Once fall hits and the weathers gets a little chilly, we realize how much closer we are to Christmas, Hanukkah, etc. Basically me the day after Thanksgiving:
8. The leaves.
That may sound a bit strange, but how awesome are the leaves? There's something so satisfying about stepping on the crunchy leaves, or watching them fly around when the wind kicks them up. Fall is the most tranquil season, don't fight me on this.
