ATX Coffee Scene

Austin is known for its music, healthy living, food, and unavoidable "weird-ness," but what about Austin's coffee scene? Believe it or not, some of the best hangouts in Austin are coffee bars. Whether it be for a quiet place to study or a lively spot to be social, Austinites pride themselves in their endless selection of coffee shops.

If you are going to ACL and want to stop for a creamy cup of coffee, tea, or delicious pastry, but don't know where to go, look no further! I have done the searching, tasted the coffees, and experienced the atmosphere of enough ATX coffee shops to give you multiple options to choose from!

Halcyon

A combination coffee spot, bar and lounge, Halcyon has it all. Located in downtown Austin and surrounded by endless boutiques to help you stay entertained, this coffee bar is in the perfect location. Keeping to its quirky atmosphere, Halcyon also offers a marshmallow roasting platter, perfect for a group of friends or a cute duo date out.

Flat Track Coffee Roasters

The perfect hole in the wall coffee shop, this is where you'll find Austin's coffee snobs in their happiest state. Flat Track does not offer syrup exposed drinks, but beautiful works of art with a hint of sugar. Walk through the arch to the right to enter a bookshop connected to a boutique, serving as the perfect backdrop to a creamy latte.

Summermoon

Summermoon is perfect for studying and socializing, with drinks ranging from hot coffee to cold lemonade, this coffee shop is the perfect contradiction.

Cream Whiskers Cream Puff Bakery

Located on West Campus, hidden between the various apartment complexes of Austin, Cream Whiskers not only serves delicious beverages, but also some of Austin's most amazing cream puffs. This is the go to spot for students studying or relaxing, so don't be surprised if you're surrounded by Longhorn spirit.

Cenote

Cenote is a patio cafe that serves coffee, tea, beer, wine, and amazing fresh food. If you'r hungry and want a great cup of coffee, this is the place for you!

Caffè Medici

This coffee house has numerous locations to meet your espresso craving needs at any time! The cool and collected atmosphere makes it easy to sit back, relax, and enjoy your drink in peace.

BarelyBean

This artisan cafe serves delicious local coffee, Texas craft beer on tap, fresh food, artisan pantry items, and more. Also located on West Campus, this is a hotspot for students to stop by and grab a breakfast taco.

Mozart's

Mozart's coffee roasters is one of the more popular coffee houses in Austin. Well-known for their Christmas lights extravaganza every year, this coffee house is located right next to the lake. For a beautiful view, day or night, stop by Mozart's to grab some ice-cream and espresso, you won't regret it.

Once Over

For a smooth cup of espresso or a glass of wine, check out Once Over. The atmosphere makes you wish you'd brought a book to sip your drink with. Once Over is located next-door to a quirky record shop, proving to be the perfect coffee bar for passing time.

Spider House

Spider house is known for their live music and great coffee. At night this outside patio comes alive and is completely lit up by colored lights all throughout the patio, adding to the mystical feel of drinking coffee at Spider house.

Jo's Coffee

Home to the famous "I love you so much" mint wall, Jo's coffee sits comfortably in Austin's busiest area, South Congress. This outdoor cafe is perfect for walking by and grabbing a quick cup, or sitting down and people watching.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
