As Many Stars There Are In The Sky

Just like the amount of stars in the sky, there are that many opportunities for you to shine.

For all of you who think that you can't become someone or that you can't do anything, I just want to tell you, that you're wrong. You are absolutely, positively, one hundred percent, wrong. dead wrong even if you prefer that saying. Every single one of us was put here to do something with our lives, to be someone we would be proud to be at the end of the day. We weren't supposed to just be born and then that's it, nothing really more to do. No, you were placed on this Earth to become someone, so stop thinking that you're worthless and find what you are good at.

Stop moping around, trying to get others to feel sorry for you and see what you can bribe away from them and get good at something and do that. There are so many people in this world who just munch off of other people and it's annoying. It really is because you were meant to do something yourself. All of us have something special about us and most of us are just content with riding on other people's success. You can have your own success if you work for it and actually do something about it. And I know that that may be hard for some, to actually work for something, but it's better than always being known as the person who leeches off of other people.

I can go on and on and on about how you need to find the inner potential in yourself and actually do something that you enjoy and stop believing everything will work out even though you have never done anything to benefit yourself but I'm afraid I'd start to sound like a hippie (the inner potential part) or my grandpa (the do something with your life part) so I'm going to stop. But, really, it isn't hard to actually put your mind to something and do it. It's so simple and you'll enjoy it so much more than just hanging onto to other people's lives and siphoning off their success. To be able to do something, get credit for and recognition...isn't that worth more than just barely scraping by?

You have a reason to shine, just like the stars do at night. Given, they are millions of years dead and we're alive but that's just a technicality really. It's more of a thought, a saying to get people motivated. Anyway, you have something to give to this world, even if you don't believe you do. You just have to find what it is and work on it so that your time on this Earth wasn't spent binge watching shows on Netflix and ordering take out because you're too lazy to cook something. Because sooner or later, you'll find that you haven't been anywhere, you haven't done anything that you always wanted to. You'll be in the same spot you were when you first started believing you weren't meant to do anything important and that will be such a waste, because you could have gotten up and thought, "I am important and I can prove it." But instead, you didn't believe in yourself and you didn't do anything and it will be such a waste.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
