One of life's biggest pleasures is the art of music. Music lets different people express their feelings and inner thoughts through lyrics and poetry and it can have many positive benefits to people listening. When some people listen to specific songs they can connect to the song on a personal level if it relates to their experiences in life, whether it may be a breakup or a very emotional song about the world we live in they can connect. I can relate to this connection and impact when I was going through middle school and started my passion for music with guitar.

Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember whether I was writing my own songs, playing guitar or just singing nursery rhymes with my family, music has been a huge part of my life. Music has definitely been one of the best things I have been exposed to due to the fact that it has been a way to express my feelings through tough times and talk about it on a more artistic level. Middle school started my passion for music when I was going through the beginning course of guitar and at the same time going through bullying. The way I look at it is, I learned an instrument and had the experiences to write a very good and personal album for the future.

The artists that usually have a very positive impact on my life during tough times are mostly the music icons such as The Beatles, Ozzy Osbourne, and Elvis Presley. The music that the icons have made are truly amazing with their amazing poetry and guitar riffs to make the connection with the listener. For instance, John Lennon's legendary song "Imagine" is a song that talks about the perfect world and how if the world can live as one there will be peace. So during tough times I listen to songs like these that talk about how if you just keep focused and stay true and positive to yourself the best outcome will happen to you.

Music has had a major impact on my life for the best and gave me a hobby and passion that I most definitely will never let down. When I have a bad day or just a tough time music is a way to just let my feelings out in a soothing way. Music is one of life's biggest pleasures and in some cases therapeutic so I truly believe that if people take up music at any point it can significantly decrease negative thoughts and it could an escape route for people who are living hard lives. Music is life and life is beautiful so with harmony music can make life better.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
